Not sure if I mentioned that they had to pull his front teeth for the operation. They were loose and so they took them out.

Elijah is no longer wearing the cast or halo. He’s free but very sore. So many of his back, chest and neck muscles have not been used for a long time. We have to build them back. The medicines are helping and he is very brave. He even ask to stand and try to walk in his walker. A few steps and about 10 minutes of standing was the most he could take before feeling bad.
Thank you for your comments and prayers.

A little more movement today. We helped him take some steps and got him into the wheelchair. He has neck pain mostly. That’s likely going to take a long time to work out because it’s been in the halo for so long. “Belle and the Prince (Beast)” from the Muny stopped by and got to see him do the walk to the chair. It’s baby steps… like everything.

I put some pictures in the gallery… Wait until you see the hardware they took out… I think it’s from Home Depot!

We are in Intensive Care. Elijah is comfortable and sleeps alot. We showed him the two teeth they pulled during surgery. The tooth fairy comes tomorrow to leave him his first reward.
Its’ been a busy but blessed day. Visits from Bro. Ron (our pastor), Ray Stephenson, Jon and Debbie Christensen, and Brit Rose.
Once again I’m reminded of the many children and families that need the hope and understanding that only God provides. The funny thing is that I think I understand God’s miracles better now. First, the common thread is people willing to humble themselves before God. Second, knowing that this is His plan not ours. Third, knowing that God can heal if He chooses.
Fourth, and most importantly, He knows if we will give Him credit for it. Miracles have always been about showing His character, His love.
It’s so cool to have the hope God gives before you need it.
